LG Optimus L7

L7 sports a metallic plastic border around the edge that gives it the look of a costly smartphone though it fails to attract much attention as we have seen much better looking phones. The device has a curved structure when we move from the front to the back, giving it a more slimmer look. With 125.5 x 67 x 8.7mm dimensions and a weight of 121g, it’s just enough to get u a good feel. Neither does it feel bulky nor fragile, a perfect balance.

LG placed the power button and the 3.5mm jack on top of the device as usual, with the volume rocker stays on the left. Micro- USB can be connected on the bottom of the device where LG provides the micro-USB port. LED flash is seated next to the 5 mega pixel camera on the back of the device.
The back cover, when removed, provides access to the 1700mAh battery, micro SD slot and a SIM slot. The back cover also houses the NFC antennae of the L7 on it self.

4.3inch screen of the L7 is a NOVA display, but bases on TFT- LCD, rather than IPS technology common in NOVA displays. With a resolution of 800X480 the L7 offers a pixel density of 217ppi, which makes a decent screen. Under direct sunlight, though not as good as smartphones these days, L7 is usable when used in full brightness. Crispiness of text, viewing angles and vibrant colors are some notable aspects of the display. Ambient light sensor, commonly found in a smartphone was not seen in L7.

Ui 3.0 is a custom user interface provided by LG for a better and clean looking interface than ICS.LG UI provides four app shortcuts in the lock screen that can be personalized in the  settings. LG also customized the UI to provide the user to set the icons in the launcher in a grid of 6 rows and 5 columns.
With 5MP sensor camera, we actually expected this phone to deliver a lot more. We were met with disappointing results. Worse results were seen in low-light conditions and average photos in good light, with not so good color reproduction. Lack of a dedicated camera key really puts off a photographer. When in low-light conditions the camera produces grainy and noisy output, even with flash enabled. The video recording of the L7 is VGA(640X480).
Front facing VGA camera is only good if you want video calling.
One of the positive fact of the L7 is the battery. With a 1700 mAh battery pack, the phone lasts 6 and a half hours in talk time. With moderate usage the L7 gives 35 hours at ease. Good news is that the battery is also removable, thus enabling the user to swap out with another battery anytime.ICS runs fine on a single core processor, but the it can truly be experienced on a dual core phone only. Though the performance is choppy owing to the processor the L7 can pass with an acceptable score in this section. In this price range this performance is appreciated. Reception and call quality was nothing to discuss about. On the speaker phone voice sounded distant.

LG Optimus L3 Dual

LG just launched its entry level android smartphone Optimus L3 in May 2012, and now the company is ready with its dual sim version, LG Optimus L3 Dual E405. This phone has the finest design and offers you the convenience of two mobiles in one. It comes with a combination of style and convenience.
To begin with, L3 E405 belongs to the L style range. It looks exactly like L3 E400 with a One-piece rim around the perimeter of the body and a broad strip of dark plastic of the camera only on the rounded corners. There are no mechanical keys present on the body which gives it a classy feel. The hardware home button in L3 E400 is replaced by four capacitive keys in the dual sim variant. In addition to the three standard Android ones, the fourth one toggles the active SIM. The front panel is 3.2 inches display with a TN-matrix and has a resolution of 320×240 pixels. Unlike other smartphones this one is cute and tiny which is a quality still appreciated by many.
Talking about the features, LG Optimus L3 Dual LG runs on Android 2.3. The phone is powered by a decent Cortex A5 800MHz processor, which makes multi-tasking faster than many other phones in this range. It comes with 384MB of RAM, 1GB of internal memory, externally the memory can be expanded up to 32 GB giving enough space for movies and games. The phone sports a 3.2 inch TFT LCD display and a 3.15 MP Autofocus camera which is ideal for clicking day to day pictures. Though enabled with 3G, the phone lacks a secondary camera.
As far as the battery backup is concerned, which has become a crucial feature for the users, the phone is powered by standard 1500 mAh battery. At maximum load, the smartphone can withstand up to 5 hours. This means that in normal operation, you will be guaranteed a minimum of two days of work – the best result among the devices of this class. For the connectivity, the device is Bluetooth, GPRS and WiFi enabled which allows you to watch TV on the move so that you don’t miss your favorite television show.
The phone offers various applications like Android market, YouTube, Voice Command, Document viewer, Google+, Gmail, Latitude, News and Weather Update, Software Update, Google Talk, Google, Gmail Sync, AOL, Yahoo, Hot Mail and LGE Mail. You can also log in to the Smart World of LG, an application store, one stop place to download a number of applications on the phone. It is a great option for a tech savvy user.
